JMA Audio offers comprehensive audio tape head and head assembly refurbishing. We can also refer you to qualified techs for repairs on Ampex, MCI, Studer/Revox, Fostex, Tascam/Teac and other reel-to-reel recorders, as well as service for pro audio outboard gear, video cameras and camcorders.
We are an authorized distributor for new audio and film heads and can provide head design and development assistance for special applications. Reconditioning for Techon film heads can be provided on request. LTO and DLT drive repairs and head refurbishment are also available - contact us for more information.
Head Relapping
Head relapping is available for most pro and consumer devices. Complete refurbs include electrical checks, hand contouring & polishing, and precise optical alignment.
Head Replacement
We are distributors for major tape head manufacturers including AM Belgium, Flux Magnetics, IEM, Otari, etc. If new heads are unavailable, we will attempt to source used ones.
Parts & Accessories
JMA Audio is now an authorized dealer for ATR Services test tapes. We can also supply hand held degaussers, pro studio supplies, and a wide variety of hard to find replacement parts.
Card Reader Heads
ATM heads, mag stripe heads and card reader heads are subject to demanding use & accelerated wear. We can restore or replace heads on both recent and legacy devices.
